From our devotion today--the best way to befriend your problems is to thank Me for them. This simple act opens your mind to the possibility of benefits flowing from our difficulties. You can even give persistent problems nicknames, helping you to approach them with familiarity rather than with dred.--
So...the chemo lab needs a new name...anyone?? let's get creative...need to laugh a little.
and maybe we need something for the constant necessary blood work...tween vampire lovers...counting on you here ;)
This morning started out really scary. She nearly fainted from the shot. Jason and lots of nurses holding her...but also Jesus right there...keeping her safe...she fought through it. One of our little presents of the day...and there were many actually...ready for the best one?? She went home at 3pm, loved on her babies and sat at the kitchen table with Nana and Pops and ate some home cooking' and it actually tasted good to her. She saw friends, talked to family on the phone and she sounded like Kelly! So grateful for a huge burst of energy that was needed for her body and her spirit! Sic 'em...niece Jill and Will in the pic :-)
Prayer requests for tonight and tomorrow-
1. Pray she sleeps without pain from the shot today.
2. Pray for her to keep liquids in her as dehydration seems to be part of her weakness.
3. Pray for healing and energy to carry on through tomorrow.
4. Pray a BIG thank you for all the many gifts He gave us today.
5. Pray for Jason, Will, Ben, Sam and Ella...always.
The Stavinoha's are praying for you Kelly! Nick is thinking of you and Will and hopes you are feeling better every day. We love you and are pulling for you, as well as Ben, Sam, Ella and Jason.

Hey Kelly! We called it the Chemo Lounge. It conjured up images of disco balls & powder-blue leisure suits (which ironically was the uniform color of my awesome chemo nurses!) & at least it SOUNDED fun!! We are lifting you up daily to the almighty Father God--not as a reminder to Him as He already KNOWS you--but for you & your sweet family to feel the power of His blessings all around you. As I read these updates I am reminded of God's faithfulness throughout my cancer battle and the hands & feet of Jesus in all the people who surrounded us with love & support. I know how it feels to be amazed by that outpouring, by the actual manifestation of His love. Peace & courage to you, Jason, Will, Ben, Sam & Ella--we love y'all!! Amy & Chad Martin
ReplyDeleteChemo Casino, Fab Lab, or take chemo out and just call it The Cocktail Lounge. Praying for many good days ahead.
